MEETING OF THE LEFT PARTIES HELD ON

                                                  CAMPAIGNS ON WTO ISSUES

The four Left parties, CPI(M), CPI, RSP and All India Forward Bloc met today at Ajoy Bhavan.
The Left Parties decided to organise public campaign on the basis of the note it submitted to the government on the WTO Ministerial Conference in Hong Kong from 13 to 18 December. The Left Parties will cooperate with other parties and organisations who take similar positions and will try to organise united action in the form of national convention, state level conventions, public campaigns in the coming weeks and rallies and demonstrations on a countrywide basis on December 13th the date on which the ministerial conference starts.
The WTO Virodhi Bharatiya Jan Abhiyan (Indian People’s Campaign against WTO) has already decided to hold the National Convention on 3rd December. The Left Parties and mass organisations will participate in the convention.
