Press Statement

The Left parties, the Communist Party of India (Marxist), the Communist Party of India, the Revolutionary Socialist Party and the Forward Bloc met in New Delhi today. They have issued the following statement:

The Left parties took stock of the developments concerning the airport employees strike against the privatisation of the Delhi and Mumbai airports and other aspects of economic policies. The Left parties expressed their deep concern at the manner in which the Manmohan Singh government is going ahead with the policies of privatisation and the recourse to FDI in certain vital sectors, even though some of these policies are contrary to the National Common Minimum Programme and the interests of the people.
The Left parties decided to discuss this matter at their next meeting after consultations within their own parties.
