The grim reality of increasing burdens on people’s livelihood with the economic recession deepening is coming to the fore. This underlines the need for intensifying popular united struggles on people’s growing economic miseries.
On June 29th, the papers carried your statement, as Chief Minister of Haryana, condemning the murder. You also declared a compensation of Rs. Ten lakhs. Unfortunately no compensation whatsoever has been received by the family from the Government.
A CPI(M) delegation along with the sons of Md. Iklakh and Pehlu Khan both victims of lynch mobs, and other affected families met the Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh and gave him a memorandum detailing five specific cases of violence and lynching against Muslim families in the NCR region.
The BJP heads the central government and the Haryana government and is a partner of the ruling coalition in Punjab. Given this situation, the central government must urgently intervene to ensure that tensions do not escalate. It is imperative that an agreement be evolved at the earliest.

The Haryana government has constituted a commission to find out the lapses by the government officials in dealing with the incidents of wide spread loot, arson and violence in the State during the Jat reservation agitation. The party has termed it to be an exercise shielding the failure of the State government and the negative role played by the ruling party.
