The public criticisms made by Comrade V. S. On Lok Sabha Verdict

The verdict of the people in the 16th Lok Sabha election has been clear and decisive. There has been an anti-Congress wave which has routed the Congress and the UPA. Maoist Killings Condemned

The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly condemns the Maoist attack in Sukma district of Chattisgarh which has resulted in the killing of eleven paramilitary jawans, four policemen and a civilian.
This brazen ambush in a region which has seen repeated Maoist attacks highlights the inadequacies of the security strategy meant to deal with the Maoist violence.

Polit Bureau Communique

The demolition of the Babri Masjid in December 1992 was a criminal offence and an assault on the secular principle. It is true that this was not a matter being considered by the Special Bench. However, there are apprehensions that the reasoning set out in the judgements may be taken as a post-facto justification for the demolition. The cases pertaining to the demolition which are being heard by other courts have to be seriously pursued.
