The Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) condemns the killing of 17 Indian army personnel in a terrorist attack in Uri in Jammu & Kashmir this morning.
The Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) reiterates its consistent position that the process of talks between India and Pakistan should continue, while adopting a firm stance on the territorial sovereignty of our country.
The Polit Bureau strongly criticizes the intemperate statements made by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar regarding Modi Government’s approach to the issue of Pakistan backed terrorists who infiltrate into Jammu & Kashmir.Â
The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) expresses its shock and horror at the massacre of 132 school children in Peshawar. Another 120 have been seriously injured. The Party denounces this unspeakable atrocity committed by the Tehrik-e-Taliban which shows their inhuman and depraved state of mind.
These cowardly attacks once again highlight the urgent need to strengthen intelligence against terror attacks. Governments at the Centre and the state have to coordinate to ensure that the real culprits are arrested. The Polit Bureau calls upon the people of Bihar to maintain and strengthen their unity.
The CPI(M) demands that Narender Modi should be prosecuted in the concerned cases and should forthwith step down from office. It calls for a Supreme Court supervised inquiry to uncover the full facts in the CD case so as to file criminal charges against those involved. In the meanwhile the bail of Amit Shah should be cancelled.
The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly condemns the bomb blasts which have killed 21 persons and injured 141 in Mumbai city. These three serial blasts are the latest terrorist attack in Mumbai. The perpetrators of this attack have the calculated design to disrupt normal life and sow discord among the people. Their efforts have to be foiled.
The shoddy manner in which the CBI is handling the extradition case of the prime accused Niels Holck alias Kim Davy only strengthens the apprehension that some high level authorities have something to hide regarding the Purulia Arms Drop.
The recent military intervention in Libya and the continuing war in Afghanistan, show that the United States has learnt no lessons from the past. State terrorism and fundamentalist terrorism feed each other. Unless the United States changes its approach of resorting to military force and state terrorism, the problem of terrorism cannot be tackled successfully.
