Prakash Karat, General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued for the following statement:

My attention has been drawn to a so-called “Interview” with me which has appeared in the sify.com news on July 1, 2005. I have given no such interview to the person whose name is mentioned. 

The entire “interview” is fabricated and I strongly object to it.
