Press Statement

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement:

Appeal for Funds for Work in Jammu & Kashmir

With the scale of devastation and loss of lives  unfolding in Jammu & Kashmir due to the earthquake, it is imperative that all efforts are made to provide immediate relief and to organise rehabilitation for the thousands who are affected.

The Polit Bureau calls upon all the Party units to collect money for relief  work in Jammu & Kashmir.  The Polit Bureau has sent Rs. 5 lakhs to the CPI(M) State Committee in Jammu & Kashmir to start relief activities.  It has also allocated another Rs. 5 lakhs for blankets to be purchased and send to the state immediately.
