Press Statement

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement:

Opportunist Manoeuvre In Karnataka

The action by a group of MLAs belonging to the Janata Dal (Secular) in joining hands with the BJP to stake their claim to form the government in Karnataka is a betrayal of their  party’s commitment to the people of Karnataka that they will uphold a secular government in the state.

The sheer opportunism of this move will cost them heavily as the people will not take kindly to such unscrupulous and unprincipled manoeuvres.  The CPI(M) condemns the unscrupulous tie-up between the BJP and the rebel MLAs.
