The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement:

Maoist Attack in Jharkhand Condemned

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) strongly condemns the heinous attack by the Maoists at Chilkhari village in Giridih district in Jharkhand which has led to the death of eighteen persons including the son of  former Chief Minister, Babulal Marandi.

The menace of terrorist violence by the Maoists has spread in Jharkhand without the state government and security forces being able to effectively check it.

The Central Government should immediately draw up a plan for  coordinated action by the security forces in Jharkhand and Chattisgarh which are the two most affected states by naxalite violence.
