CPI (M) to Contest 12 Seats in Punjab

Punjab State Committee of CPI(M) has finalised  the following list of 12 candidates who are to contest the seats of its share of 52 seats jointly contested by left front comprising CPI, CPI(M) and RMPI in the February 4, Punjab Assembly Elections.

1. Batala ( Gurdaspur District ) - Avtar Singh Kirti

2. Tarn Taran  ( Tarntaran )- Sukhdev Singh Gokhalwar

3. Shahkot  ( Jalandhar ) - Bachittar Singh Taggar

4. Adampur (R) ( Jalandhar ) -  Gurdial  Dass Bains

5. Garhshankar  ( Hoshiarpur )- Harbhajan Singh Atwal

One should never ignore the fact that the so called political violence in Kerala, particularly that of Kannur is being sought to be made a subject of discussion all over the country with a political motive. The political motive is to create an impression that law and order is in dire straits in the state of Kerala.

Jharkhand: Protest Police Firing

The Left Parties CPI (M),CPI, CPI( ML), Marxist Coordination Committee, SUCI ( C) have strongly condemned indiscriminate firing by Police- causing death of at least 4 persons and injuring several villagers who were in sit-in demonstration at NTPC mining area at Barkagaon in Hazaribagh district ,demanding proper compensation and employment for the displaced.

Left march against BJP ruckus

BJYM, youth wing of BJP attempted to create a ruckus in Kolkata on Tuesday with the so called ‘march to Alimuddin Street’, CPI(M) state committee office. They were ‘protesting’ comments by CPI(M) Polit Bureau member and Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar in a function in Tripura. Sarkar criticized the foreign policy of Modi government and proposed more friendly economic and trade relations with India’s immediate neighbors. That was interpreted as ‘anti-national’ by RSS-BJP and they threatened to storm CPI(M) office.
