Rich Tributes to Surjeet

The fifth death anniversary of former CPI(M) General Secretary Com. Harkishan Singh Surjeet was observed at his native village Bundala, in Jalandher district of Punjab. Thousands of people and leaders of several parties attended the function to pay tribute to Com. Surjeet.
 

Popular Mandate Not Reflected

Secretary of the State Committee of West Bengal CPI(M) Biman Basu has criticized the way the election procedure was undertaken. He said that since the municipal elections were far from democratic, the results fail to reflect the popular mandate. He cited many places where the common people cast their votes overcoming all kinds of threats and anarchies promoted by the Trinmool Congress. The Left Front has won in one municipality and multiple wards of other municipalities.

Delegation Meets Jharkhand CM

A delegation of Left Parties called on Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and sought his intervention to improve the law & order situation and tackle the problem of drought in the state. The delegation included the CPI(M) State Secretary Gopikant Bakshi, former CPI(M) MLA Rajendra Singh Munda, CPI's K.D. Singh and RSP's Radhakant Jha.
