Bengal: 15 Day Campaign from June 12

West Bengal Left Front would begin a 15-day political agitation-campaign movement from 12th June all over the state in protest against 'deteriorating' law and order situation, political vendetta by the ruling party, 'state-sponsored terror' and false cases against Front workers, high price rise, anarchy in education sector, no unemployment, atrocities against women, attack on democratic rights etc. This was announced by Left Front Chairman Biman Basu at a press conference after a meeting of the Left front committee.

Basu said that from 11 districts alone altogether 1,841 false cases, implicating about 70,000 Left Front workers, had been filed by the state government since 2011. He said, that if the cases are not withdrawn the Left front will hold demonstrations before the Police stations and if necessary, Police stations would be gheraoed and road would be blocked in the district headquarters during the movement.

On the Modi-Mamata visit to Bangladesh Basu alleged that it was the mutual interest of the two parties that found priority over the issues relating to India-Bangladesh bilateral ties.

Biman Basu said that Banerjee's last-minute backing out from former prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh's entourage to Dhaka two years ago was also a 'political decision by the Trinamool Congress chief'. The change of mind, this time, he said, was guided by the new political equation between the two parties.

About the alleged violation of the High Court order scrapping the West Bengal parliamentary secretary appointment Act by the ruling party, he said 'this government cares little for the Constitution and has no respect for judiciary'.

The LF chairman said that the police helped the Trinamul Congress to 'tilt the balance' of Kharagpur municipality election in favour of the ruling party.
