Tripura: Left Parties Protest

In response to the all India call given by the six parties for the observance of an all India protest day on July 20 to expose corruption at high levels in the BJP central and various state governments in Tripura the central programme was organized at Agartala. Here apart from the 4 Left parties that constitute the Left Front – the CPI(M ), CPI, RSP and AIFB – the  CPI (ML) Liberation  also participated. 
 

At around 3.00 p.m the protest march led by CPI (M) Tripura state Secretary Bijan Dhar, Central Committee member Rama Das and other leaders of the Left Front started and after passing through different areas of the city concluded in a meeting in front of the Rabindra Bhaban. 

Here Bijan Dhar, CPI (M ) West District secretary Pabitra Kar, CPI leader Milan Baidya, RSP leader Dipak Deb and AIFB state president Dr.Brajagopal Ray addressed the gathering. Coming down heavily on the Modi government for the allegations of rampant corruption that have come to fore Bijan Dhar termed BJP as Bharatiya Jaliyat  (fraud)Party. He said even though allegations of corruption have been labelled against Sushma Swaraj External Affairs Minister of this government and chief minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje none of them resigned. Severe allegations of corruption in Vyapam scam have been leveled against Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh. Allegations of corruption are there against chief minister of Chhattisgarh and a few ministers to Maharashtra government. But none of these tainted ministers have tendered their resignations. Bijan Dhar demanded the immediate resignation of these ministers and free and fair inquiry to unearth the truth. He said, the fight against corruption can not be separated from the fight against the neo-liberal policies which is the fountain head of corruption.
