Relief Given to Pakistan

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement:

The CPI(M) has made a contribution of Rs. 5 lakhs for relief work for the earthquake affected people in Pakistan. The cheque for the amount was handed over to the Pakistan High Commissioner Mr. Aziz Ahmad Khan by Prakash Karat, CPI(M) General Secretary and Sitaram Yechury, Member of the Polit Bureau at the High Commission today.

The Party has given a call for collection of funds for the relief work for the earthquake affected people in India and Pakistan. In the meantime, the Central Committee of the CPI(M) has already allocated Rs. 10 lakhs for purchasing blankets to be sent to Jammu & Kashmir.
