Ashish Misra, son of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Ajay Misra Teni, the prime accused in the massacre of farmers has finally been arrested, after a Supreme Court indictment, five days later.

P.B. Communique

The central government is passing important legislations through the din created by government sponsored disruptions. The CPI(M) demands that no legislation should be passed without a proper structured discussion. This BJP central government is undermining the parliament of discharging its responsibility and legislating on important matters working people life and death issues. This must stop.

Covid Victims: Compensation to Families

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement:

On Compensation to Families of Covid Victims

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) rejects the Central Government’s understanding with regard to compensation to Corona victims, as stipulated under the Disaster Management Act, which has been invoked by the Central Government to deal with the Covid pandemic. Under the provisions of this Act compensation to the victims of a disaster has to be paid.

The upsurge of the pandemic continues to take a heavy toll of human life all across the country. The Polit Bureau expresses its grief at these unavoidable deaths and conveys condolences to the families of all those who have lost their lives.

The new vaccine policy announced yesterday, is once again an effort by the central government to absolve itself from the colossal health crisis that they have created. There is an effort to shift the entire responsibility on to the state governments.
