Jharkhand: Tribals Implicated in False Cases

October 31, 2016

The Jharkhand State Secretariat of the CPI(M) has strongly condemned the act of the Jharkhand State Government to falsely implicate villagers including leaders and activists of CPI(M) in the case of police firing on October22,2016 at Saiko village of Khunti district.

FIR has been lodged by against 1500 villager’s u/s147/148/149/328/324/325/307/332/333/353/427/342  including attempt to murder which are completely fabricated and concocted.

It is crystal clear that the police fired indiscriminately on tribal men & women who were peacefully waiting for buses to participate in a rally organized by different tribal organizations at Morabadi Maidan, Ranchi on October22, 2016 to protest the proposed ant-tribal and anti-farmer “CNT & SPT Acts (amendment) Ordinance-2016”  and demanding the Strict enforcement of Land Acquisition Act -2013, Residential Policy of the State Government etc.

Due to police terror many people are reported to have fled from villages. It is also to be noted that seven villagers are traceless till date.

The State Secretariat has demanded the immediate withdrawal of false cases against innocent villagers; lodging of FIR  against police u/s 302 &307 for the murder of Abraham Mundu  and injuring Chamra Mundu and six others  and the constitution of an Enquiry Commission headed by High Court Judge to probe into the firing.
