Memo to HM: Lynchings in NCR

A CPI(M)  delegation along with the sons of Md. Iklakh and Pehlu Khan both victims of lynch mobs, and other affected families met the Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh and gave him a memorandum detailing five specific cases of violence and lynching against Muslim families in the NCR region.

JNU Issue: Memo to President

We are herewith releasing the copy of the letter handed over to the President of India, seeking his intervention to resolve the current crisis in the Jawaharlal Nehru University. A delegation comprising Shri Digvijay Singh (INC), Sitaram Yechury (CPI-M), D Raja (CPI), K C Tyagi & Pawan Kumar Verma (JD-U), KTS Tulsi (nominated). Majid Memon (NCP) and Baishnab Parida (BJD) met the President at 6.30 p.m. today.

 

Memo to Election Commission: West Bengal Elections

West Bengal’s electoral history is unique characterized by abnormally heavy voter turnout underlining the peaceful, free and fair character with massive popular participation under the strictest scrutiny of the EC. A number of times the Election Commission and its observers have put these on record. Particularly during the 2006 elections, the EC had organized it under unprecedented security arrangements. So much so, that the elections were held in five phases and both security and other election officials were largely drawn from outside the state.

Wild Allegations by TMC

If indeed the TMC leader and Union Minister does possess some secret information we request you as the Union Home Minister to obtain such information and act on it in consultation with the state government. If on the contrary, there is no such information, as surely is the case, then may we request you to set at rest the apprehensions and tensions that have resulted from the Union Minister’s utterances.
