Jharkhand: Against Land Acquisition

In a meeting held today at Ranchi the Left parties have decided to expose the conspiracy of the state government to allow big business houses to loot the lands to the tribals & indigenous people of Jharkhand in the name of development.

The Govt in the name of 'Momentum Jharkhand Global Investors Summit'  is organizing a summit of entrepreneurs on 16-17 February at Ranchi.

The government has already sent the proposals for amendment of Chhotanagpur Tenancy Act & Santhal Pargana Tenancy Act to the President for approval which will open the floodgate for acquisition of agricultural lands of the tribal and other farming communities.

It was decided in the meeting of left parties to hold a broad based mass convention on 15th February to chalk out program for a movement. Eminent personalities from different walks of life & social organizations will be invited to share their opinion.

The left parties have appealed to all the social organizations, individuals and other opposition parties to launch massive protests against the state governments anti-people, pro-corporate move.

The meeting was presided by G.K.Baksi, State Secretary of CPI(M) and attended by K.D.Singh, State Secretary of CPI, Janardan Prasad State Secretary of CPI(ML), Prakash Viplav & Sufal Mahato of CPI(M), Siddheswar Singh (SUCI), S.Mukherjee of Marxist Co-Ordination Committee, eminent social worker Dayamani Barla  & others.
