SC Judgement on POA

It is unfortunate that the central government counsel did not respond properly and raise objections against the dilution of the provisions of the Act. Unless immediate remedial measures are taken by the Central Government to undo the damage done by the judgement, the forces inimical to social equality and justice will be further emboldened to perpetrate violence against Dalits.

Lets Not Forget, RSS is Anti-Dalits!

Soon after the PMs condemnation of the Una incident in his post Mann Ki Baat address, the RSS also criticised the attack on Dalits. The timing of the two statements shows the weakness of the conviction behind it. The attack on Dalit youth in Una took place on July 11 and the Prime Minister spoke against it only on August 7. Both the statements were made almost a month after the Una incident. RSS's seriousness is also evident from the fact that, along with condemnation, it added that the Prime Minister should have not called 80 percent Gau Rakshaks fake.

The newly-appointed Vice Chancellor, allegedly, under pressure from the Minister of the Union Cabinet belonging to Hyderabad and the consequent direction by the Human Resources Development Ministry, had taken this action of suspension from the hostels.  The hunger strike was a protest against this action by the Vice Chancellor.

Though this is not a special session, as the CPI(M) demanded, these two days must be utilized for ensuring that the attention of the entire country is focused on this shameful scourge of Indian society -- inequality on the basis of birth and descent -- and on the urgent need to take comprehensive and strong measures to eliminate it.

A CPI(M) delegation with Brinda Karat, Inderjeet Singh, senior Haryana State leader and Nathu Parsad,conveyor of the Delhi DSMM and Faridabad district leaders went to the Sunpeda village to meet the Jitender Kumar, father of the two infants, nine months  baby girl Dibbu and her two year old brother Vaibhav  who were burnt to death in the arson attack by the upper castes

Haryana Killing of Dalits: Act Firmly

The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly condemns the murderous attack on a dalit family in Faridabad district of Haryana. A dalit family of four, including two children, was set on fire inside their house allegedly by higher caste Hindus in village Sun Perh in Ballabgarh.  Two children, aged two and 10 months, died before any medical attention could be provided and their mother is struggling for life  at Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital.
