The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement:
The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) unequivocally disapproves of the unseemly actions of the Tamilnadu governor, RN Ravi, in skipping portions of the address to the assembly prepared by the state government.
The CPI(M) demands that the Governor must uphold democratic principles and immediately ensure constitutional process of conducting floor testing to prove the majority without further delay.
One can understand the Governor condemning the incident. But Shri Narayanan has gone much beyond that and called it a “shocking pre-meditated assault on the Chief Minister, the Finance Minister and other senior ministers of West Bengal”.
