On PFI Ban

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement:

The Popular Front of India (PFI) is an organization which holds extremist views and has been indulging in violent activities against its perceived opponents.  The CPI(M) has been strongly opposed to these extremist views and has always condemned the violent activities of the PFI.

Ban on Meat Opposed

The Polit Bureau denounces the growing instances of violation of the constitutional fundamental right of personal life, freedom and liberty of Indian citizens, by enforcing strictures on lifestyle and dietary habits of the people.

Against Beef Ban

The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) protests against the Maharashtra law which, apart from the ban on the slaughter of cows, prohibits the slaughter of bulls as well as bullocks.   This law has now come into force after Presidential approval.
