PB Communique

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) met in New Delhi on December 27-28. It has issued the following statement:

Economy: The Polit Bureau expressed its concern at the deepening recessionary conditions in the Indian economy. Notwithstanding all propaganda and claims made by the government of economic recovery, investments in augmenting India’s productive capacities are not growing.

P.B. Communique

The Polit Bureau discussed the broad outlines of the contents of the Report and the Resolution for the Organisational Plenum to be held from December 27 to 31 of December, 2015 at Kolkata. The replies to the detailed questionnaire by the Party Centre to the State Committees have been received and the documents for the Plenum will be prepared incorporating these as well. The Polit Bureau will meet on 28th and 29th of October and the Party Central Committee from 13th to 16th of November to finalise the documents for the Plenum.

P.B. Communiqué

The Polit Bureau noted the three trends, being pursued by the BJP government, that the Party had noted at its 21st Congress -- the aggressive pursuit of the neo-liberal policies of economic reforms; the relentless onslaughts on the secular democratic foundations of the Indian Republic by the sharpening of communal polarization and the movement towards an authoritarian rule through the erosion of democratic institutions – are all getting aggravated.

Those who have written off the CPI(M) and the Left Front on the basis of these results are not only mistaken but will be proved wrong. Despite the electoral reverses, the Left Front has got the support of one crore 96 lakh people which is over 41 per cent of the votes polled. The CPI(M) and the Left Front will unitedly work to expand this support base by assiduously championing the people’s interests both within the assembly and outside and launching struggles of the working people.
