CPI(M) Tripura state committee appeals to the masses to be cautious about the divisive politics of RSS and BJP on one hand and IPFT and INPT on the other. Briefing the press on the deliberations of the one day meeting of the state committee, state secretary Bijan Dhar said that the party will intensify it’s political, organisational and ideological work to effectively counter these menaces. 
 

The state committee has called for making the 20th July anti corruption day programme a huge success. Apart from the 4 left parties CPI ( ML) Liberation has also expressed willingness to be a part of the agitation and the Left Front Committee has agreed to the offer. The state committee has decided to launch a massive campaign programme from 1 – 19 August on 6 point demands of the rural masses and specific demands of the youth and North East region. The programme shall conclude with human chains organised all over the state on 19th. The preparations for celebrating the birth centenary of Comrade Dasharath Deb has started. The state committee has appealed to all the party members and AG members to make the programmes a huge success. It has also decided to lend full support to the general strike called by the 11 central trade unions on 2nd September.
 

The state committee has welcomed the commencement of work for evacuation of power from Tripura to Bangladesh and the development in the work of linking Agartala with Akhaurra of Bangladesh through rail. It also expressed concerns about the falling prices of natural rubber because of the huge inflow of cheap and synthetic rubber from ASEAN countries as a result of the Indo ASEAN free trade agreement. It also expressed dissatisfaction in the centre’s unitary and autocratic attitude of jeopardising the special category statusof the states of the North East region and also called for simplifying the procedure for payment of wages in MNREGA. 

Bijan Dhar said the scrutiny and renewal of party members for 2015 has concluded. The membership has increased to 89570 from 87691 last year an increase of 2.14 %.The percentage of women among the party members has increased from 25.76 to 26.49 .The percentage of the SC, ST, and religious minorities among the party members has also increased.
