The Court judgment has itself stated that the demolition of the Babri Masjid in December 1992 was a violation of law. This was a criminal act and an assault on the secular principle. The cases pertaining to the demolition should be expedited and the guilty punished.
This judgement requires to be fully studied. There may be questions on the nature of the verdict.The CPI(M) maintains that in our constitutional secular democratic system the judicial process which includes recourse to the Supreme Court should be the only way to resolve the issue.The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) appeals to the people of the country to maintain peace and communal harmony and not fall prey to any provocations.
