It is clear that Donald Trump is pursuing the US administration’s policy of military interventions violating the sovereignty of independent countries by interfering in their internal affairs which is reprehensible under international law and conduct.
The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly opposes the reported moves to launch a military attack on Syria which is to be discussed at a meeting of military chiefs of the US and its allies at Amman in Jordan. The Government of India should come out against any military intervention and advocate a political solution for the conflict in Syria.
This blatant aggression against Syrian sovereignty and violation of all international laws must be condemned and stopped by the United Nations Security Council. The Indian government cannot remain silent on the matter and must forthrightly condemn this aggressive action.
