State Assemblies
The CPI(M) has emerged as the single largest political party in the states of West Bengal, Kerala and Tripura. It is leading the state governments in these states. In West Bengal it has been in office for more than thirtyone years winning elections for seven consecutive terms from 1977 onwards. In Tripura, it won for the third successive time in 2008.
Though the electoral presence of the CPI(M) is uneven, it has representations in ten state assemblies.
