General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Sitaram Yechury, will be visiting Canada and Portugal in connection with some programmes. He will be leaving for Canada on September 14 and return on September 24.
On September 15 he will be the keynote speaker at a public meeting centred around the theme of the “Rise and danger of communalism in India”, to be held at the Bombay Banquet Hall.
He will also participate in the Gadri Memorial Celebrations (Mela) on September 16 and release a Souvenir being brought out on the occasion of the observance of the Centenary of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. This programme would be held at Stetson Bowl, Surrey. Both these programmes are being organized by the Indo Canadian Workers Association, Canada.
From September 18 to 20, Sitaram Yechury will be visiting Portugal at the invitation of the Portuguese Communist Party for bilateral discussions and attending some programmes being hosted by the PCP.
