Press Statement

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement:

The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) reiterates its concern at the unfolding events in Vadodara. Despite the clear warning given by the events of the demolition of the dargah, the administration has not taken any initiative. In fact they have allowed the mobs to attack and brutally kill a person in his car and colonies are being threatened. These are the same areas where in 2002 the riots had taken place. The administration is refusing to take action against the communal forces.
The Central Government must immediately take steps to ensure that the administration protects the minorities and the security forces are deployed for this purpose.
