The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement:
The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly condemns the manner in which the railway budget was adopted in the Lok Sabha without a discussion. The decision to push through important matters such as budgetary provisions, which contain many anti-people measures, without a debate is totally undemocratic. The government’s stand in the matter will not be acceptable to the people of the country.
