The delegate session of the 24th Congress of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) began on April 2, 2025 afternoon. 729 delegates and 79 observers are attending the Congress.
On behalf of the Central Committee, Prakash Karat, Coordinator of the Polit Bureau introduced the Draft Political Resolution and the Political Review of the 24th Congress in the afternoon session on 2nd April 2025.
The main thrust of the Draft Political Resolution is on the ways to combat the growing threat of Hindutva forces. The communal forces, in nexus with the corporates, are spreading their divisive ideology. With the BJP-led government in power at the Centre for three consecutive terms, the RSS and Sangh Parivar is using its access to State power to penetrate into all the organs of the State and communalise the entire society. To comprehensively combat the threat of Hindutva, it should be fought on economic, social, ideological and cultural arenas, apart from fighting in the electoral arena.
The Draft Resolution states that the in order to combat the Hindutva forces, it is imperative for building the independent strength of the Party. For this, the Draft Resolution calls upon the Party to strengthen class and mass struggles.
The Draft Resolution also emphasised on the necessity to strengthen the Left unity and mobilise all secular and democratic parties, forces that are ready to join the struggle against Hindutva communal policies of the RSS-BJP.
The Report on the pre-Congress amendments was also introduced before the Congress. 3,424 amendments and 84 suggestions were received on the Draft Political Resolution that was released two-months before the Congress for discussion at all levels of the Party. Out of these 133 amendments were accepted.
