Punjab: March to Assembly on March 19

The  Four Left Parties- CPI, CPI(M), CPM Punjab & CPI(ML) Liberation will hold a massive ‘March To Punjab Assembly’ on March 19, 2015 for pressing the acceptance of their 15 Points Demand Charter . The above decision was announced here today by the State Secretaries of these parties- Comrades Bant Singh Brar ( CPI), Charan Singh Virdi ( CPI(M) ), Mangat Ram Pasla (CPM Punjab), & Gurmeet Singh Bakhtupur ( CPI(ML) Liberation ).
The main demands stressed in the Demand Charter are :
The withdrawal of  the draconian black bill ‘ Punjab Prevention Of Damage to Public And Private Property Bill- 2014’ passed by the Punjab Assembly, scrap property tax on urban property, Rs 3000 per month as widow & old age pension, Rs 15 thousand as minimum wage to industrial workers, 10 marla plots to rural homeless people, round the year regular work to MGNREGA workers with Rs 500 as wage per day and  extension of MGNREGA scheme to urban poor, filling up of vacant posts in government departments, unemployment allowance , implementation of Swaminathan Commission recommendations  for fixing Minimum Support Price ( MSP ) for agricultural produce of the peasantry and  sand, transport and drug mafias be reined in who are operating with political patronage etc.
The left leaders expressed dismay over  the inaction of Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Badal in conceding the demands, despite the fact that he expressed his positive intentions in the meeting held with the Left Parties delegation on 9th February, 2015.
The Left leaders called upon their respective units to make maximum  mobilization for reaching  Chandigarh in big  strength for making the ‘March to Assembly‘ a strong and massive protest.
