The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) expresses is profound grief at the death of a former member of the Central Committee of the CPI(M) and a veteran of the communist movement in Bihar, Comrade Vijaykant Thakur, who died this morning. He was 86 years old.
The Central Committee discussed the draft Political-Organisational Report presented by the Polit Bureau. This will now be presented to the 22nd Congress to be held at Hyderabad from April 18 to 22, 2018.
The Polit Bureau also calls upon the Central government to take long term measures including the desilting of the Ganga river which every year is causing floods and consequent damage. In the instant case, the damage could have been controlled had the release of water from the Bansagar dam been managed better

The Central Committee finalized the Draft Report on Organisation to be sent to all State Committees. The Central Committee will meet on December 26 and finalise the report to be presented to the Plenum beginning December 27, 2015 at Kolkata. Massive preparations through state wide jathas and mass contact programmes are underway in West Bengal to make this plenum a big success.
The Left Parties will launch a nationwide campaign against the communal hate offensive spearheaded by the RSS and patronized by this BJP led government, from 1st to 6th December, 2015 through various forms of protest.
The CPI(M) congratulates the people of Bihar who have given a resounding defeat to the BJP alliance in the assembly elections. They have rejected the rank communal campaign conducted by the BJP, led by the Narendra Modi-Amit Shah duo with divisive issues like cow and beef and the bogey of reservations for minorities.
The Polit Bureau discussed the draft report to be presented to the Party Plenum on Organization. This draft will now be subjected for discussion in the Party Central Committee meeting scheduled to meet in Delhi from November 13 to 16. The Plenum will be held in Kolkata from December 27 to 31, 2015.
The Polit Bureau discussed the broad outlines of the contents of the Report and the Resolution for the Organisational Plenum to be held from December 27 to 31 of December, 2015 at Kolkata. The replies to the detailed questionnaire by the Party Centre to the State Committees have been received and the documents for the Plenum will be prepared incorporating these as well. The Polit Bureau will meet on 28th and 29th of October and the Party Central Committee from 13th to 16th of November to finalise the documents for the Plenum.
