The convention demanded free education and health facilities, 10 marla plots to rural homeless poor, houses for the urban poor, and round the year work to MNREGA workers. The convention decided on an action programme to hold Day & Night dharnas all over Punjab in front of Deputy commissioner’s offices from 07-09 August , 2016.
At a massive joint convention held at Jalandhar on 6 November 2015, the Punjab units of four Left Parties - CPI, CPI(M), CPM Punjab & CPI(M-L) Liberation - declared that a sustained mass struggle will be launched for settlement of the 15 Points Demand Charter.
At present, the communal forces are once again seeking to raise communal issues and create communal tensions. In the light of the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, the communal campaign has been intensified. This has resulted in outbreak of communal incidents in various parts of the country. The riots in Muzaffarnagar are the most glaring example.
