The announcement of a “strategic partnership” with Israel in the joint statement, which is a strategic alliance, amounts to a virtual abandonment of the Palestinian cause.
Report on Political Developments
Since the Last Central Committee Meeting
(Adopted at the Central Committee Meeting held on
January 06-08, 2017 at Thiruvananthapuram)
The Modi Government is going back on the longstanding position of India regarding Palestine and is adopting a pro-Israeli stance which is unacceptable. The Polit Bureau demands that the Government take a categorical stand opposing the continuing Israeli aggression which has killed innocent civilians.
This blatant aggression against Syrian sovereignty and violation of all international laws must be condemned and stopped by the United Nations Security Council. The Indian government cannot remain silent on the matter and must forthrightly condemn this aggressive action.
The 1.7 million people of Gaza continue to remain under a brutal siege, with the Israeli stranglehold affecting even basic necessities such as food and medicine. Reports available indicate that hospitals are running out of medicine. Power and water supplies have been cut to the Gaza residents.
The attack on the flotilla in international waters, 65 km off the Gaza coast again shows the complete contempt that Israel has for international law or international opinion. Attacking ships in international waters and killing its passengers is a brazen act of piracy and must be treated as such by the international community.
