Maharashtra: 20,000 Rally for Struggle

More than 20,000 people from the tehsils of Dahanu, Talasari, Vikramgad, Palghar, Jawhar, Mokhada and Wada from Palghar district and Shahapur tehsil from Thane district marched under the banner of the CPI(M) and the AARM to the District Collector’s office at Palghar on October 16, 2015 to castigate the BJP-led governments at the centre and in the state and with a 21-point charter of burning demands of various sections of the working people

Ban on Meat Opposed

The Polit Bureau denounces the growing instances of violation of the constitutional fundamental right of personal life, freedom and liberty of Indian citizens, by enforcing strictures on lifestyle and dietary habits of the people.

Thousands Rally in Mumbai

On August 1, 2015, the CPI (M) Maharashtra state committee organised an impressive rally of over 10,000 people as part of the nationwide campaign against the anti-people and pro-corporate policies, communal conspiracies and corruption scandals of the BJP-led Modi regime at the Centre, and the BJP-led Phadnavis regime in the State.

Against Beef Ban

The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) protests against the Maharashtra law which, apart from the ban on the slaughter of cows, prohibits the slaughter of bulls as well as bullocks.   This law has now come into force after Presidential approval.

Arrests of Women Condemned

The incident shows how the Congress-NCP Government panders to the Shiv Sena brand of intolerant and authoritarian politics. There is nothing remotely offensive or anything pertaining to religious sentiments in the message posted by one of the women. This is a clear case of misuse of the IT Act, once again underlining the need for a thorough review of some of its provisions that are open to gross misuse.
