The Polit Bureau meeting discussed the ways and means for sustaining and advancing the peaceful protest movement against the CAA-NPR-NRC all over the country. It called for the unity of all secular and democratic forces to carry forward the movement.
Thousands of activists of Left Parties which includes CPI(M), CPI, CPI(ML) SUCI(C) demonstrated in various part of Delhi on 10th September 2018 to make success the hartal called by Left Parties against the unparalled hike in prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas as well as the runaway increase in prices of essential commodities.
The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) condemns the decision of the government to raise the price of cooking gas cylinders by Rs. 4 per month till a time when the entire subsidy on gas cylinders is wiped out.
The Central Committee adopted a separate resolution on the situation in Jammu & Kashmir expressing serious concern at the number of deaths, injuries, continuous disturbances for three long months and terrorist attacks aided and abetted from across the border. The Central Committee condemned ‘cross border’ terrorism.

In a situation where burdens on the people are being relentlessly mounted, the Central Committee of the CPI(M) has called on the Party units to observe nationwide protest action focusing on price rise and growing unemployment from July 11 to 17, 2016.
Notified in September 2013 during the last leg of the UPA-II’s tenure, the National Food Security Act (NFSA) of 2013 has now been existence for more than 30 months. Although it kick started with 11 states/UTs (Bihar, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh Delhi, Haryana, HP, Karnataka, MP, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Punjab) its progress has been slow and tardy.
The Polit Bureau discussed the draft report to be presented to the Party Plenum on Organization. This draft will now be subjected for discussion in the Party Central Committee meeting scheduled to meet in Delhi from November 13 to 16. The Plenum will be held in Kolkata from December 27 to 31, 2015.
The Central Committee expressed serious concern at the rapidly deteriorating conditions of the people’s livelihood that are a direct result of the more aggressive pursuit of neo-liberal economic policies by the BJP-led Modi government.
