The second day of the CPI(M)’s Plenum on Organisation began at the Promode Dasgupta Bhawan today morning at 11.00 a.m. with the introduction of the “Draft Resolution on Organisation” by General Secretary Sitaram Yechury.
There is nothing new in this “truth”. All the charges against the Left raised ad nauseam in the past are repeated once again. The Left is accused of hegemonising the intellectual discourse in the country. The point of view of Left intellectuals has been persuasive and continues to be so because of the strength of its scholarship, reasoning and study of Indian history.
Sitaram Yechury, General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) is in China attending the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) organised in Beijing, China from 13 to 16 October 2015. He spoke in the Conference, organised under the theme 'One Belt-One Road Initiative'.
CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury stated that the actual control of Modi government lies with RSS. Addressing a public meeting commemorating birth centenary of Comrade Harkishan Singh Surjeet in Kolkata, on September 13, Yechury said that the BJP used to castigate the Manmohun Singh government by saying that its remote control lies with Congress President. But in case of Modi government, the RSS is its real control.
The BJP displays selective amnesia by forgetting that the Rajya Sabha functioned for just two per cent of the time in the 2010 winter session. The BJP then led the disruption demanding action against those involved in corruption belonging to the then UPA government led by Dr. Manmohan Singh. “What is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander” is wisdom of an old saying that the BJP refuses to learn from.
An estimated 25 lakh people participated in the 1000 km long dharna in Kerala registering an emphatic protest against the disastrous policies being pursued by the BJP-led Central Government and the Congress-led UDF government in the state.
On August 1, 2015, the CPI (M) Maharashtra state committee organised an impressive rally of over 10,000 people as part of the nationwide campaign against the anti-people and pro-corporate policies, communal conspiracies and corruption scandals of the BJP-led Modi regime at the Centre, and the BJP-led Phadnavis regime in the State.
Though the Election Commssion (EC) has some time ago clarified through a press communiqué that the Aadhar Card detail are voluntary and not a compulsory requirement for being enrolled on the voters list, this practice as I mentioned above seems to suggest that the EC has decided in making the Aadhar card as a mandatory requirement for the exercise of franchise. -- Sitaram Yechury

A Left Front Parties delegation led by Biman Basu (Chairman, Left Front Committee, West Bengal), Sitaram Yechury (MP, leader of the CPI(M) Group in Rajya Sabha), Abani Roy (Ex-MP, Revolutionary Socialist Party) Surjya Kanta Mishra (Leader of the Opposition, Legislative Assembly of West Bengal), Pallab Sengupta (Communist Party of India) and Ali Imran Ramz (Member, Legislative Assembly of West Bengal, Forward Bloc) met the Prime Minister today on the issue of financial irregularities and fraud committed by financial companies in West Bengal. The delegation submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister.
