The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly condemns the police action in the Seshachalam forest in Andhra Pradesh which has led to 20 people being shot dead. These persons were labourers hired for cutting down red sanders wood by those who illegally trade in it. The police claims regarding the incident are untenable as there is sufficient evidence to show that these labourers were killed with impunity.
It is nine months since the Sri Krishna Committee submitted its report on Telengana and Andhra Pradesh .... Procrastination will only worsen the situation.I would urge you to see that a decision is taken on the matter without any further delay.
The UPA government in India is not learning any lessons from this financial and economic crisis and continues to adhere to neo-liberal policies which are worsening the conditions of the people with relentless prices rise, lack of employment opportunities and rampant corruption.
