Surjya Kanta Mishra, leader of the opposition in the West Bengal assembly wondered why the Shyamal Sen Commission report on the Saradha scam was not being made public. Speaking at a huge public meeting in Kolkata on December 2, Mishra who is also a Member of the CPI(M) Polit Bureau said he would be seeking an appointment with the Prime Minister to express displeasure about delay in the Sardha chit fund scam probe.

Left Front Chairman and CPI(M) Polit Bureau Member, Biman Basu demanded that CBI should interrogate the Chief Minister as one of the two TMC MPs arrested in connection with the scam has publicly said about the involvement of the Chief Minister. She should also be punished if found guilty, Basu added.
