CPI(M) activists take action to treat the tribal villages afflicted with Malaria epidemic – in the Visakhapatnam Agency region. Many tribals have died in the recent months due to Malaria. Government promised to provide 24 hour treatment in the PHCs of the agency. But, not a single PHC in the region is offering 24 hour treatment, despite multiple deaths.
Many of the tribal villages don’t have roads and the only way for the patients to reach healthcare facilities is by trekking. CPI(M) and AP Girijana Sangham have organised teams of volunteer doctors, who are trekking to the villages with medicines to provide treatment to the tribals.
Dr. B. Rama Rao along with activists is travelling 10 k.m on horseback to reach Halubedda village. The villagers said that, it is the first time after independence that a doctor has visited their village.
