One villager has succumbed to death and several others were injured. The left parties have demanded Judicial Enquiry headed by sitting High Court Judge and exemplary punishment of those responsible.
It is notable that within last two months, the police resorted to indiscriminate firing at Gola, Barkagaon (Hazaribagh) & Khunti causing death of two, four and one villager respectively, who were protesting against government policies of forcible land acquisition and attempt to amend CNT/SPT acts.
The left parties have appealed to the people of Jharkhand to observe successful Jharkhand Bandh on Oct 24 and raise voice against the authoritarian role of the state government to curb all democratic movements by resorting to firing and other oppressive measures.
The left parties have appealed to different chambers of commerce, businessmen, shop-keepers, transporters & people from all walks of life to extend their active support and make the bandh call successful.
Bandh call has been given by Left and Secular opposition parties demanding Judicial Enquiry on Police firing at Gola and Barkagaon (Hazaribagh), withdrawal of ordinance for amendment of CNT and SPT Acts, implementation of Land Acquistion Act 2013 and against series of custodial murders (Secretary)
