CPI(M) led Left Democratic Front (LDF) has stepped up the agitation on the issue of multi crore solar scam. Its call for hartal on July 10 against brutal police attacks on LDF MLAs and protesters demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, met with an overwhelming response. Thousands of LDF activists held huge demonstrations in district and local centres across the state braving torrential rains.
The LDF has planned a series of agitations during July on the issue. Left trade unions will hold a march on July 12, agricultural workers on July 15, students organisations on July 16 and youth organisations on July 19. Public meetings will be held from July 18 to 21. LDF MLAs will hold a sit in on July 22.
