CPI(M) Polit Bureau Member and Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar addressed a public meeting in Tezpur on January 8. Stressing the need to change the ruling alliance at the Centre, he said the Left along with democratic parties will play a major role in government formation after the Lok Sabha elections. Manik Sarkar termed Gujarat as the model state for communal violence, and not a model of development. The Chief Minister cited Tripura’s example of development of education, health, agriculture and power sector.
