The West Bengal Left Front will be organizing a sit-in demonstration in Delhi on December 18 during the Winter session of parliament. Chairman of the West Bengal Left Front Biman Basu said that this was to highlight the incessant attacks on democracy in the state. The Left Front has also decided to conduct a massive campaign on crucial issues affecting the lives of the people during the months of November and December.
Apart from the attack on democracy in West Bengal, at the Delhi sit-in demonstration, the Left Front will also raise highlight issues like price-rise, distress sale of agricultural produce, supplying 35 kg. rice per month to every family through PDS, against sexual assaults on women and anarchy in educational institutions.
He also said that that in the backdrop of rising activities of communal forces in the country, a convention against communalism will be held in Kolkata.
