The Special Court at Bangalore has convicted Jayalalitha, the Chief Minister of Tamilnadu and the General Secretary of AIADMK in the case against for her acquiring disproportionate wealth.  Based on the judgement, Jayalalitha should immediately step down from the post of Chief Minister of Tamilnadu.

This judgement is a warning signal for those who indulge in corrupt activities and dishonest in public life.   CPI(M), Tamilnadu State Secretariat is of the view that this judgement will strengthen the struggle against corruption.

After pronouncement of this judgement, news coming from different parts of Tamilnadu indicate that  anarchic riots and attack on public properties are taking place.  The  CPI(M) exhorts the State Police to take strong measures to keep the law and order under control.
