Hussainiwala (Ferozepore): Thousands of students and youth marched to the memorial of great martyrs- Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev at Hussainiwala on the Indo- Pak border near Ferozepore. The students and youth organizations of the Left parties paid tributes by putting flower garlands at the statues of the martyrs.
The students and youth leaders pledged to fight to safeguard freedom and to maintain unity and integrity of the country. They also resolved to fight against the divisive and communal agenda of the fascist organizations like the RSS who want to divide the society in the name of religion, caste and region. They resolved to intensify their struggle against commercialization of education, unemployment, black money, corruption, drug addiction , saffronisation of educational institutions and attack on constitutional rights of the people like freedom of expression.
Comrade Raghunath Singh, State Secretariat Member, CPI(M) and General Secretary, CITU, Punjab said that true homage to the great martyrs will be to carry forward their ideology to establish socialism where there will be no exploitation of man by man . He condemned the anti-people policies of the Modi-led BJP government at the centre and the Akali-BJP government in Punjab. He expressed serious concern over failure of the government to control drug mafia in the state.
