The Left parties extend their complete support to and solidarity with the huge protests by the farmers of the country. Lakhs have converged around Delhi demanding the withdrawal of the Agri laws, passed in the parliament in a brazen anti-democratic manner, and the Electricity (Amendment) Bill.

The Modi government has embarked upon a merciless destruction of people’s livelihood which have already been severely assaulted both by the pandemic and the unplanned, unilaterally announced and totally mismanaged nationwide lockdown.
The Left parties call upon all their units all across the country to raise these demands to pressurize the governments to implement these, through protest actions, taking into account the concrete conditions prevailing there, maintaining the needed physical distancing and wearing masks.

In view of the Corona virus pandemic, it has been decided that this observation will not be held in large gatherings and public meetings. The martyrdom day of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, however, will be observed as we traditionally observe them every year.
The Left parties have decided to observe March 23, 2020 marking the anniversary of the martyrdom of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev to consolidate opposition to the CAA/NPR/NRC process and to project the vision of a modern, inclusive India that Bhagat Singh wrote about, worked for and sacrificed his life.
